Valley of Flowers

Valley of Flowers

NICOBAR | SPRING SUMMER 2022

A Valley of Flowers was a Spring Summer 2022 collection at Nicobar, developed during my internship. Inspired by the landscapes and floral abundance of Kashmir, the project involved developing surface patterns for womenswear, scarves, pocket squares and menswear shirts. The floral patterns began as drawings and digital explorations, then moved into sampling through screen printing and digital printing, with some motifs further translated through machine embroidery. What stood out was how thoughtfully the range was structured. The collection architecture was planned so that the drawings could move across different products and applications, leaving very little unused. Working across these categories meant thinking about scale, placement and repeat, and how the same idea could change depending on the surface it was placed on. It brought a practical understanding of print development, from building a motif and composition to seeing how things change its character on the final product.
